A wide range of health services and community groups will be attending, complemented by fun activities and a quality entertainment program that includes such artists as The Borderers, Supernova and Studio Flamenco. The day will be a fun event for families and individuals of all ages to celebrate men in the community. Free Health Screening Checks for men will be available.
891 ABC Adelaide Weekends Program will be broadcasting LIVE. Apart from the Life.Be In It recreational program activities, there will be face painting and other fun activities for children. A highlight for many will be the ‘Wallis Theatre Gold Pass – Fling A Thong’ challenge, World Taekwondo demonstrations, Classic Cars display, Art exhibition, Rock Wall climbing, and the giant puppets! as they meet up with the ‘Larger than Life’ creations by students and young people. Celebrate the Man Alive! Award Finalists!Come and celebrate the imagination and talent of students and young people and their Larger than Life Creations! From 10.00 am to start the festival, Largs Bay, Le Fevre and Pennington Primary Schools along with young people from the Junction Community Centre and an African young peoples group will showcase their fantastic work, parading these very large characters around Semaphore Foreshore Reserve. They will be joined for some of this time by the Giant Man Alive! Puppets and Captain Man Alive! A ceremony accompanied by the Billy Hyde Raiders Drum Corps will take place at about 11.25am.
Visit the Art Gallery Marquee and enjoy the visual display of artwork from local primary school students. Oceanview, Le Fevre and Pennington Primary Schools will present artwork from their students about men that are important in their lives. Celebrate the contributions of these males as seen through the eyes of these young people. Some of the men illustrated in the artwork will be selected as ‘finalists’ for a Man Alive! Award and a great prize! This will take place at about 11.55 am.
